At 10PM Eastern Standard Time  the Call of Duty Black Ops multiplayer reveal event took place. The following is a collection of Call of Duty Black Ops Information from around the community, enjoy.

• You can play MP on a LAN as long as everyone on the LAN has internet connectivity
• Dog killstreak is back
• Helicopter killstreaks aren’t AI controlled anymore, you fly & fire them yourself
• Matchmaking on the pc is just letting the game pick a server in codblackops
• No juggernaut, one man army or stopping power perks
• No leveling up to get guns or attachments or perks. You buy with cod points what you want when you want it
• Max player counts have not been finalized for ranked or unranked server
• Kick / ban for server admins confirmed
• NO public server files
• Dont expect public server files for another major FPS title
• Dedicated servers through GameServers.com ONLY
• Lean confirmed
• Black Ops will be friendly with Windows 7 and 64-bit systems
• There is an improved server browser on the PC
• There will be a Spectator mode
• The PC version will have “/record” and the Theatre mode
• Will be a Steam exclusive game using VAC as an anticheat
• DRM is Steamworks
• Unranked servers will be fully customizable
• Ranked servers will have limited options for customization
• Camera Spike, C4, Tactical Insertion, Motion Sensor, Claymore
• Death Machine and Grim Reaper killstreaks. Death Machine is an Gatling gun and Grim Reaper is a rocket launcher
• Gunship, Mortar Team, and SAM Turret
• Snow levels, jungle levels, urban areas
• 50 Ranks for Multiplayer
• customize your weapon/perk loadout as well as your character (facepaint, camo, etc..) and etch your clan tag into your weapon and add custom decals to your clips/reticle

Emblem editor – images, layers, and a background. You change the scale, move, color, rotate, all that stuff. Create layers, then purchase the option with COD points to put it on your gun.

Wager Match – a new game type. Put your COD Points against other players and the top three people get paid in the match, 4 FFA game types for Wager.

Contracts – are time-limited challenges you buy and get more CP if you finish them. “Using any combination of stats, we can make any kind of Contracts we want, and can change them at any time.” Mercenary, Operations, and Specialist contracts.

One in the Chamber – everybody gets a pistol and one bullet. If you kill someone, you get their bullet. If you miss, you have to knife them. You have 3 lives.

Sticks and Stones – Crossbow, tomahawk and ballistic knife. If you hit with the tomahawk, you bankrupt them.

Gun Game – straight from the community. Series of progressive weapons. Every kill moves you one in level of weapon – pistol, two pistols, shotty, etc.

Sharp Shooter – all players start with the same random weapon, and then the weapons all change at intervals. Everybody is always equal with the weapons

Combat Training – is a new multiplayer mode that lets you play with bots. It has its own rank up, can be played co-op with a friend. When you are ready, you can then go online

Combat Training was not planned. They built a practice dummy just to gauge weapon damage etc for testing, but then they realized they wanted “Larry” to behave like a real player. So they made it a feature for Black Ops. “Play multiplayer by yourself or co-op with your friends” says Bunting

Features

• Compete, Customize and Create is the slogan they are going with for Black Ops multiplayer
• Combat Training: training map with AI (bots.) Different rank progression. Aimed at players who don’t go online.
• Character model shows up in menus, so you can see customization effects.
• Basic appearance determined by tier 1 Perks. For example, Flak Jacket = armored appearance, Ghost = stealthy appearance

Perks

1st perk – Lightweight, Scavenger, Ghost (~Cold-Blooded), FlakJacket (as found in CoD:WW…lowers explosive damage), Hardline

2nd perk – Hardened, Scout, Steady Aim, Sleight of Hand and Warlord

3rd perk – Marathon, Ninja, Second Chance, Hacker, Tactical Mask

Killstreaks/Equipment

• All things that are lethal are on right bumper, all Tactical items go left bumper, and there’s now an equipment category for deploy-ables.
• Motion Sensors (a personal UAV) and a Signal Jammer.
• Batch of special weapons that players will get in Care Packages — including the Death machine and Grim Reaper (chain-gun and missile launcher)
• Napalm Strike, Gunship, Mortar Team, Radio Controlled Car, SAM Turret and Spy Plane killstreak rewards

Call of Duty Points

• Every time you play, you earn money – Call of Duty Points (CP)
• What you used to unlock by level is now for sale — if you can afford it, you can buy it (weapons, equipment)
• Contracts: time limited challenges that you purchase with COD Points (CP). Categories = Mercenaries, Operations, Specialist. Each is attached to certain play styles and in-game achievements. Mercenary rewards players for kills and kill streaks, Operations are for team players, and Specialists are for unique play styles.

Customization

• Players have a special attachment for their weapons; they can place clan tags, decals and custom red dots on their weapons using this attachment.
• Flamethrowers, sniper rifles, shotguns… everything can be customized
• Emblem editor

Theater

• Theater Trailer coming in a few days
• All recent games played on live can be tagged, edited, and searched with Theater.
